Title: MDI connection
Post by: Lyons on May 23, 2011, 07:34:22 pm
Does the MDI connect through the quadlock on the rear of the RNS? I always imagined it went into the other black socket?

However I went round to steal the glovebox kit from my mums Polo SEL and when I got the RCD310 out I noticed all wiring went through the quadlock, therefore foiling my plan.

It goes in via the quadlock through the CD Changer wiring

I was sure I'd seem a black socket on the back beside the aerial!?

I assume the mdi plug is the blue one within the quadlock? And because of the lagging etc round all the cables I assume it would be near impossible to separate them?

Aye thats the one.

If it was a factory fit MDI you wont be able to get it out.

Youd have to get a new MDI loom from kufatec, and use that to connect your HU to the MDI box

How much is the loom only?

Does it just plug in between the car loom and the radio?
