Hi All,
I have an intermittent knocking noise coming from the rear of my car, and it's driving me crazy. I've done the usual checks, things like Exhaust, Stones in with springs, taken the spare wheel completely out, but still it is there.
I'd class the knock as a deep knock, doesn't sound like metal on metal.
Anyone else come across this ? Could it be the anti roll bar drop links on there way out, I have checked them and they are not loose.
Talk about driving me up the wall :fighting:
Any ideas suggestions :drinking:

Its your parcel shelf, stupid weighted balls knocking on your bootlid. Stevie :happy2:
-
Stevie you better be sh*tting me :signLOL:....................... I'm going to take them out and see what happens
-
Fold your back seats and brake accelerate you will see them doing it. Drove me mad!!!!!!!! Stevie.
-
Maybe it's the parcel shelf string weights. If not, check anti roll bar drop links and the anti roll bar bushes that hold it in place
-
Definetly NOT the ball weights on the parcel string.
So it must be anti roll bar bushes or links.................. GGggrrrr driving me mad

**** Update *****
Still got knocking noise on the rear of the car.
So have ordered Anti Roll bar bushes, Brackets, and both Drop links, Hope fully by doing all of this, the intermittent knocking noise will go.
As a added extra, I have also ordered the 2x front bolts and washes for the front sub frame too. (Thanks Mandy for your thread)
I'll keep you all posted on the out come
Cheers

Did you find out what it was in the end. Mines doing the same. It's driving me mad!

I'm sure I had this on my R32, a knock and a squeak and they change the top mounts...
