Where do you live Dunc
Surbiton, surrey
but do go down to my mums now and then which is in east sussex
-
VrStu is you man :happy2:
-
Vrstu fits all this type of stuff, and comes highly recommended, once your post count is up to 10, give him a PM and he will sort you out.
-
will this invalidate my VW warranty?
that is my only concern - and what type of products / prices are available? im guessing it will work through my stereo, will my multi function steering wheel control the phone as well?
-
MFSW will conbtrol certain aspects of the phone.
Stu is your man but due to the exchange rate for the Euro the cost may be a little prohibitive.
-
what is the unit that he provides / fits?
-
It is an OEM VAG one which is available in Europe but not in the UK.
I'm sure he will be along at some point and add his thoughts.
-
is it better to go for that than say a parrot bluetooth system of some sort?
would i need to get VW to fit it to retain the warranty or does it not matter?
would rather give some cash to someone on here than to VW
-
It's 10x better than the Parrot.
It doesn't change warranty... they are VAG parts.
-
sounds great!! any ideas on price (rough estimate)
-
Have a poke around here (http://www.kufatec.de/shop/index.php/language/en).
Gives you an idea of what is available and price. I'd OE Bluetooth over something bolted to the dash any day of the week.
-
I've got a Parrot and am happy with it....
-
not tried it but I thought this looked good

If you have this combo, Highline dash, multifuntion wheel, and even better a Vw SatNav mfd2 or RNS510, then the kit works in conjuntion with the cars Multifuntion computer and even has voice recon and Contacts displayed. Cost be around £300. Highly recommended.
-
just seen you have only have the Midline computer nor Sat Nav. Best bet would be the Parrot setup.
