Hey troops, got the wee message sayin brake light faulty, so no probs I will nip in to Halfrauds and pick one up, look at their magnificant books looks up golf and year etc, and says excluding GTi.
Thought to myself surely GTi doesnt have a different brake light from any other golf of the same year, so looked up my year and scrolled across for it to tell me its L.E.D, which I am pretty sure it isnt.
Common sense side of me (the misses) says just ask. Being a man didnt want to but couldnt make head nor tail of their book so bit the bullet and asked.
I would have been aswell asking the guy if he had ever been caught sniffing little boys bike seats, he didnt have a clue so asked a fellow mongo still nothing. needless to say best part of half an hour spent in the place and left with nothing.
So cutting a long story short what bloody bulb do I need for the brake lights. any advice would be great. And sorry to any Halfords emlployee I may have insulted.

I changed mine about a year ago & they are just a standard bulb.Take it out & use it as a guide for the replacment,thats what i did. :smiley: :happy2:

Aye most definately a standard bulb unlike the Golf Plus which uses LED
P21W is the listed bulb

Assuming Hafords haven't changed there labelling system since I last needed a brake light bulb its number 382, as I have the card in the car!

P21W = 382 :laugh:

I had to put a new one in yesterday. Mines a TDI but its the same for GTI's. P21W as said above :) Be careful when you pull out the plastic bulb holder the clips are a bit tight. Nearly whacked one of the bulbs on its way out :(
