Title: May '11 Passat CC - RNS 510 - Full post code support

Hi,

I have just taken delivery of a brand new Passat CC, was build first week in May.

The RNS 510 unit I have will only do 5 digit post codes. v7 Maps were supplied by with the car.

Is there a newer version of firmware avaliable which will allow 7 digit UK post codes?

I do not know which firmware it's currently running.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Given it's brand new I'd be inclined to enquire at the dealer about updating to the latest firmware, to support speed camera & full postcode. If you have access to VCDS you can scan the nav unit to see what firmware it's running.

If its brand new, it should be on around 2760 with maps 7333 or newer for full 7 digit.

I just noticed the RNS 510 manual that came with the car says 11.2010 Edition on the front.

Does this mean anything?

I will enquire with the dealer regarding the firmware.

Thats just the revision of the manual. Not of much use really

Dealer wasnt very helpful, they said it hasnt been released for the Passat CC yet!

VW customer service were a little more useful, but they still havent given me a solution.

I'm a bit apprehensive doing anything myself seeing as i've only had the car since Friday!

If you know someone with VCDS they can scan it and enable the secret menu to determine the map and firmware version
