Title: Air con compressor part number

Hi
I bought my lovely GTI last Oct, as it's got warmer I've put the AC on and erm have noticed it doesn't work i.e. blow out cold air
Initially i took it to Kwik Fit and had it regassed , still didn't work
So I took it to a garage and they said the compressor is shot

I've seen ones on Ebay :

Are you sure it is the compressor. Did kwik fit put in tracer dye to see if you have any leaks? Do engine revs change when ac is on, or stay constant? Have you ruled out the high pressure switch?
