I believe it is a problem for all direct injection engines, RS4s suffer badly with it.

This is why alot of people have been fitting catch cans and PCV deletes :smiley:

That is messy!
I think I may take off my inlet manfold and check the intake valves as mines done over 60k now

Had to do this recently on my daily (Suzuki Swift) the inlet manifold was blocked up too and its only done 50k miles!
EGR looked the likely culprit on that rather than PCV though.

I'm using a STP additive every 5000km, do you think this will help or should i ultimately be looking at a catch can. Those pics are scary :scared:

AS it says above, these are direct injection engines which means your fuel additives don't go anywhere near the valves to clean them! Sorry :ashamed:
Although I bet your injectors are clean :happy2:
