Hi
Thought i'd share some pictures of my Interlagos kilt - obviously I'm really chuffed with it
It's proper VW cloth and the kilt makers said it was ideal for kiltmaking.
Just need a monza themed sporran now!

Are you a member of the Wolfsburg clan??

Wolfsburg clan
Great story behind it - went to my local kilt maker and told him what I was after expecting him just to laugh or not have a clue what I was on about but as soon as I mentioned the GTI interior his face lite up and he explained he was one of the 1st people to import a MK1 GTI (LHD) from Germany. So once I got the cloth he made the kilt for free - you gotta love the GTI spirit :happy2:

That's pretty smart. Where can the cloth be sourced from?

When I had the idea for a GTI kilt I went to my local dealer and asked for advice help (I’d checked online and soon found out you couldn’t buy the cloth anywhere – even from a VAG dealer) they said they would try and help but after lots of phone calls to their PR woman and months of waiting they fobbed me off with “sorry we tried to call VW in Germany but when we got through no one spoke English so we’re not going to process any further as it’s a waste of time” - many thanks Specialist Cars Aberdeen :fighting:
I was so pissed off with the dealer for messing me around – I phoned VW (Germany) myself and explained everything (surprise surprise they spoke perfect English) including the part about the kilt maker and his MK1
A few weeks later VW UK contacted me and gave me the great news that they would be arranging to import the cloth from Germany – The cloth is very expensive but definitely worth.
