Hi guys. Car has started to miss fire at 4500 revs with engine managment light flashing, then goes off when driving more sensibly. Although the car has recently had coilpacks replaced i took it to VW yesterday with the error code says the problem with cylinder 1. They replaced that coilpack and said see how it goes. I give it a bit of a blast on the way to work this morning, same thing happens!! Ive already ordered spark plugs from JKM hopefully arrive tomorrow. In the meantime is there anything else it could possibly be? The car has been remapped, with miltek sports cat exhaust system and k & N typhoon induction kit.
Cheers

Could be a faulty injector...
-
Oh great......how much are they and are they hard to replace?
Thanks
-
What fuel are you putting in?
-
Tesco 99, have done since i had it with no probs.

Could be the fuel pressure switch on the HPFP, does it give low fuel pressure faults?
May be worth seeing if the part number has a "K" on it
It's located on the left side of the hpfp with wires going into it

As far as i know it didn't show up any low fuel pressure faults. What does it mean if the part number has a "k" on it. Sorry if i sound a bit vague, im not the most mechanically minded, but i can tell the guy that looks at my car.
Thanks

The latest version of the low pressure fuel sensor (thrust sensor) is K.

Good chance it's a spark plug, had something similiar once due to a bad plug.

You need to plug it into vagcom to get to the source of the problem, whereabouts are you ?

Hi mate live in South Wales. I took it into VW and the chap on the service desk said it came up with the cylinder 1 problem(not sure exactly what it said, code etc) so they replaced the coilpack and its still the same. Going to replace the plugs tonight, though i dont think its going to resolve the problem, after that i guess it a process of elimination, injectors etc.

They checked it and replaced one coilpack for you, thats good of them...one coilpack going causes stress on the others and they follow suit,go GSF and get the more expensive ones if I were you.
-
If you have taken it to the Dealer then ask them nicely to try and get them to cover it under factory goodwill....we all know that VW Group have had problems for years with coil packs failing......

Yeah i've had them all replaced about 5 weeks ago as part of the recall and they replaced the one on Wednesday to "see how it goes" they did mention it could well be the injectors!

Maybe change the plugs first as they are cheaper, then coilpacks then MAF
Coilpacks have 5 year warranty iirc

got exactly the same problem only its at 2500 rpm, drive sensible and ya wouldnt know owt was wrong, its doin me head in
