Hi All
Just wondered if you need a "trade" account to get stuff from TPS.
Read that they work off cassis & part numbers only :sad1:
Hate paying Stealer prices if I can get bits a little cheaper elsewhere.
Any advice for the Leeds/Bradford TPS appreciated.
Cheers

TPS have really tightened down now. Alot of them will not sell anymore without a trade order and account.
Best thing to do is give them a call and ask
They often object to having to look up part numbers too - you really need to know what you want and be specific knowing what chassis/model and year it has come off of.
-
You could always ask to open an account.
Beware though that all is not rosy in the TPS garden. Sure consumable items such as brakes, clutches etc are cheaper - Items they have in what they call the parts club, but outside of that discounts are small and often your local dealer will do better for you.
-
Aye. Discounts outside of the 'parts club' are between 8 and 13% against retail cost
-
I can assure you i don't get as much as that on much of the stuff I buy. Often it's 3 or 4% so I tend to use my account at VW which normally gives 10% if it's possible.
-
I must be special then :signLOL:
Granted I did used to work at the VW dealer they all worked at about 5 years ago so that could well have something to do with it
-
I'm sure if they know you it will help.
I had a questionnaire from Volkswagen asking why i've not been using TPS so much and I told them the discounts were pitiful but I've not heard back. Perhaps I don't spend enough?? I've got a £1k credit limit with them but I've only been close to it once.
-
Haha indeed
Lol thats brilliant. I was going to get a credit account, but it was like an 8 page application when a credit card more than suffices!
Consumables like gloves, sprays etc are seriously cheap though compared to some outlets like makro, halfords etc

I didn't have a great amount of forms to fill in with either of the accounts, VW was just a sheet of A4 and I think I was lucky to get in with TPS when they opened.
