Title: DV Valve query...
Post by: adamf on June 04, 2011, 04:45:17 pm
Hi everyone..

Have just got my car in the air to change my DV to the new piston one as I thought the other one was fooked... But I can't see where it is... And have noticed a shiny something up there where I thought it would be. Have taken a few pics on my phone. Not great as have limited space lol

Any help would be appreciated.. not sure if this is some sort of replacement or I'm looking in the wrong place.. thanks...
Adam

Doesn't look like it. Hard to tell unless you have a metal forge dv.

Ok K03 engine. It's on the off side of the engine block (left hand side as you look from the front) to the side/rear.

Use your replacemen DV as a guide for what to look for.

Well I'm thinking it might be a forge one.. maybe the guy before me got one fitted but I don't know what one looks like...

From the photo it looks to be in completely the wrong place for the DV.

Like I said it should be under the car at the drivers side edge of the engine towards the back rather than the front.

Follow the pipework back from your intercooler.

When I did mine I found it without any problem. Just getting the bugger on and off was the issue.

its got a forge one on! leave it alone as i think forge is the best valve and i have used both the rev D oem and the forge

yep got a forge one already, I've used them on 2 cars and I'm not convinced they are any better than the piston OEM. It might need a service as they can stick

I found the problem... One of the boost pipes was too long and rubbing on the drive shaft.. quick fix.. ad some pipe in garage and a couple of cable ties :-)
