Title: Cheap R32 lights from ECS

Works out at £102 inc shipping, as long as customs don't catch you out could be a bargain for some.
Even if they do catch you, most likely be for £50. :happy2:

P&P takes the mick somewhat though. Price without it is around £45! Them boys across the pond don't know how good they've got it!

I'm pretty sure you would just need to pop out the red lens of your original lights and put in the new ones....or you could just use a red bulb! :happy2:

A red LED bulb would sort it, postage is a killer on most things, i have been looking for a CCM and CECM i can get both in the US for £45 the pair yet they want £95 in postage costs, and iirc royal mail would then want another £35 in TAX, almost makes a holiday to the US sound a good idea, if there was enough of us wanting stuff i could go on holiday buy all the parts and send them to you on the cheap   WINNER  :signLOL:

Are the indicator lenses easy to swap to amber? or would an amber bulb work just as well? In the pics the indicator lenses are clear

Good luck with the shipping, hope they don't catch it at customs, though when it comes to taking your money then they don't often miss.

Please keep us updated if you've ordered a set.

I was considering at these from Eurowagens as they're just 1/2 hour up the road from me to collect:

But may hold on if I can save £70+  :happy2:

I got mine on tuesday morn, fitted them yesterday eve. They look the bizz. Really liking the clear lenses across all four segments, no orange or red lenses. Had a small bit of modding to do to get a power supply to the led's on the side. Didn't know they had side led's so that was a nice surprise, something different I suppose. I ordered amber led's for the indicators but they were too weak, decent amber h6w led's are difficult to come by. You'll probably laugh at this but as a last resort I popped down to a craft shop and painted my existing h6w's with transparent orange paint and you know what, they didn't come out half bad. I gave them too coats, one would have been enough.
A hint too orange but that can be sorted easily again. It's not heat resistant paint but I figured it should be ok as the indicators are rarely on for long periods. Wouldn't chance it with the fog, I'll just buy a red p21w bulb and stick her in. There ya go, bob's your auntie! I took pic's of how to get the led's working, must stick them up. But in fairness its pretty straightforward, just cut two slits into the metal outboard roughly the same size at the connectors for the led's and connect them up. Sorry for the long winded paragraph-less response but i'm on my phone and can't get it to paragraph properly.

Maybe US ones have side markers built in?

Can't get picks up yet. But yes there are two little led side markers. Not very noticeable but something different. If I get sick of them I'll just disconnect them. When these lights are used in the US the outer half of the lights flash as the indicators and the LED side markers flash with them. I'm living in ireland and I managed to get away with the import tax, don't know how because anything I've bought from ecs in the past I've been caught. All in they cost me 119 euro, including delivery, bargain! So happy days

Shipping is more expensive than before, works out at £120, then if you do get caught by customs it will be a  £30 minimum, looking like it will be cheaper for people to get them from the  EU now.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know where you can get all red rear lights?  I've seen them on a couple of MKV's but can't seem to find them on the net.  I've heard if you spray them with lens tint do you have to change the colour of the indicator bulbs to green bulbs??

Saw one on the show and shine at inters this weekend that was all red, looked awful to be honest. (so bad that it stopped me from voting for it!)
Think it is a DIY jobby.

Really?  I saw a pic and they looked quite good.  I guess they don't look that great in the flesh then!!  Did you get any pic by any chance?

The slits you cut in the outboard, did you choose roughly the same place as where they are on the US spec bulb holders, as they aren't exactly the same shape.

Yes thats exactly what I did, get in the screwdriver, lift up the outboard a little and snip the metal so you have two slits roughly the same size as the origonal US ones.  Then you can connect your LED wires to them
