Title: advice DSG v Manual also red mark 5 wanted
Post by: million miles on June 05, 2011, 12:54:12 pm
Hi,
I have just joined the forum, today I sold my NSX ! I need a four door car.
Over the last 30 years I have owned Mk1 Mk2 and Mk3 GTI, 16v and VR6. It's now time to return to the GTI fold. My first question concerns the DSG box v manual, what is the general view on reliability and desirability, also the drivability?
This will be a second car so it will do about 10k per annum.
I am looking for the following in order of importance.
5 door
Red
Leather
£6500-£9500
mileage to reflect the price.
I live in Suffolk and don't want to travel too far to view.
All help and suggestions very much appreciated. If you have a car that matches my needs please feel free to get in contact, I'm a cash buyer.

Thanks in advance
Simon

First and foremost...Welcome!!!

I think you'll be looking at the high end of that budget. We have have a garage down the road with a black 5 door dsg on the forecourt, 50k mile and a price tag of £10500. And thats not from a VW dealer...... :sad1:

I would suggest going and driving both Manual and dsg and choosing your own presonl preference. Mines a spanish gearbox (manuel  :rolleye:) so I'm biased to them. Have driven both, made my choice.....!!!

Good luck!!!!
