Title: New Member and new car
Post by: steverobb1973 on June 05, 2011, 07:20:31 pm
New to forum - not to Golfs...

Ho folks, just got a Mk5 GT TDI as a car to do my commute in - RS4 was costing me upwards of £125 p/week just for fuel :indifferent:

Its an early 2004 but ticks all the boxes for what I need it for.

Looking to remap and fit a GTI interior - improve the ICE with something a bit more modern and add bluetooth.

Other than that I cant see me doing too much more to it.

Here's a pic of the new arrival...

Steve

Nice car mate, and nice colour. I'm awaiting that Votex Front Splitter you have there. It's going on my sage green GT Tdi. Any tricks inside? Leather, etc. More pics and details please!!  :happy2:s

Nothing to note inside as yet - bog standard I think.

Planning on Interlagos GTi Interior and a better stereo plus bluetooth.

At the end of the day its a workhorse for me so comfort and practicality is the key...

55mpg would be a dream compared to the RS4.

If I try I can get single figures out of that...

Just got the Golf remapped tonight.

What a fantastic improvement. Supposed to add 45bhp and 60ft/lbs torque - didnt dno it so cant be sure - however what I can be sure of is its a huge improvement, especially mid range! :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

Best £200 Ive spent for a while!

where did you get the remap done mate? Liking the added power? I'm looking to get this done but am worried about my turbo. Does yours whistle at all?

No turbo whistle or clutch scrubbing..

Mine had 100k on the clock but has good service history.

I always use Angel Tuning to do my remaps - they come to your home or place of work and carry it out there.

I've had 6 or 7 cars done by them and completely trust them!

I paid £200
