Title: Steering wheel change...
Post by: steverobb1973 on June 09, 2011, 09:32:28 am
Hi, is there a "How to Guide" to show me how to change my GT TDI Steering wheel to a flat bottomed GTI steering wheel....

I's sure its not as simple as removing one and a straight replacement with another... or is it?

Thanks

Steve

I found this thread on another site but its for upgrading to a MFSW, which Im not too fussed about. A standard GTI Flat bottomed wheel without controls is what I am after. In this other thread it mentions that you need new wiring looms and controllers - which I assume that because I am going from a non MFSW to a Non MFSW I wount need...

But it also mentions that a new slip ring will be required - anyone know if I'll need this part or whether thats also only required if doing an upgrade to a MFSW

The link is here http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/156872.aspx

Thanks
