Sorry if this has been asked before but I've got a budget of £16,500. Do I get a manual s3 or a dsg edition 30. I can't decicde. Is the s3 worth the extra money.
-
DSG ED30 :happy2:
-
Spend the extra money on Mods to the ED30, you'll only spend it on the S3 in the future
-
Manual Pirelli, IMO better place for your cash. Will have better residuals than either the S3 or ed30 in the future.

....Do you always give such importance to residuals when you buy a car, Dave?
I would test drive both Ed30 (or Pirelli if you find one) and S3 before deciding which suits you best.

Would modding de value a pirrelli? Most things can be put back to standard I guess
Theres a Pirrelli for sale atm on the forum isnt there?

If you don't have to lose £, then don't.
Really like the Pirelli (especially in silver..........), and apart from trim is the same as the Ed30.
So I like it, it keeps better residuals, they are like hens teeth, therefore makes more sense to me than ED30 or S3 at the present time.

S3 all day long. or a scirroco R

Took an S3 out before ordering the Cupra, loved the feel of better build quality (just all the extra touches) Prefered the Audi interior.
Just couldnt afford the extra ££££ at the time. Wouldve done all the same mods to an S3.
Love My Leon though.
-
:congrats:
Rocco R another good shout, cracking looking and performing car with healthy residuals.

A little out my price range though

I agree a Pirelli would be a good choice.....but then I would do!!

....I'm curious: If it hadn't got the healthy residuals but you loved its looks and performance, would you have turned it down?

+1 and if you get Greeners' one, you know it's been looked after. He makes people with OCD look crazy!

Or what about a new FR+. MKVI TSi engine, satnav, sensors, climate for £19,995 (and DSG an option)

£500 on a remap and you have stock Cupra power with less lag :happy2:
-
Good deal that :happy2:
-
I would go with an Ed 30 as the S3 you would be buying would be a high miler for the money your looking at.
-
Pirelli 5 door dsg/ Edition 30 5 door DSG For "all-round" practicality would be my choice in that order...
3 door S3 just doesn't make practical sense for a family guy...
but not everyone has that problem..
-
Not keen on the S3 for some reason, can't put my finger on it
-
Good deal that :happy2:
I paid 17.8k for my cupra k1 brand new
-

....I know what you mean! Excellent Audi quality but not very distinctive or memorable. But some folks like that about it. The S3 Sportback fully loaded with options is more comparable to the Ed30 in my opinion, but we all like and want different things.

£15,500 +ended up shelling £300 for delivery for my Cupra :P Only went for Xenon adaptive though. Everything else can be retrofitted & I haven't bothered so far.
-
I sold mine for 15.6k 18 months later :signLOL:
We are good businessmen
-
I miss my Edition 30 DSG :(
S3 will be nice but have less character ... says he who has never had one
Either are great cars .... but this is a VW forum so I have to say Edition 30 :happy2:

....Well I view the S3's as our cousins (but I wouldn't kiss a cousin) and there are plenty of guys on this forums who have them... and Seats and Skodas.
-
I would go for S3 if I could, just for be able to put the power down easier... :driver:
-
Ok I looked at both cars today a dsg edition 30 and an s3 and ended up putting a deposit on one. I won't tell u which but hopefully upload some pics when I pick it up nxt week. :driver:
