Title: Removing pins
Post by: craig_t on June 09, 2011, 08:49:38 pm
Recently brought a Vw iPod adaptor. Tried fitting it tonight up to the point where in the instructions it ask to remove a pin from the main stereo plug.

I really struggled with this to the put where I had to stop. I know there is a special Vw tool for removing these pins but is there a way it can be done without this tool.

I've done this before. Think it's swapping the ipod and cd changer wires or something. There are barbs on the wire and these are what you need to push in. It took me a pair of pointed-end tweezers and a small screwdriver I think. It catches twice or there are two barbs but push them down and gently pull. It will slide out.
