Candy, a few people on here have done a 20 mil drop, and have been really disappointed expecting it to look different but not able to even notice any drop.
the 40 mil springs set the GTI ride height perfectly imo

i got 10 mm spacers on the back too , how much would you want for them ? when ?  red robin offered me his but i have to pay some one to fit them so worked out cheaper to buy new cause no one really wanted to fit used springs    do they drop a full 40 mm  ? from std ed 30 height ?

IMO anything under 40mm isn't worth bothering with, because you will struggle to notice the difference, just bare in mind that performance springs on standard shocks, can shorten the life of the shocks.

I've had performance shocks and springs before (Eibach and H&R), but I'll always go for coilovers from now on, just a much better solution, with the option to alter height.

40mm drop - would that cause any problems with a fully loaded (ie 5-people + luggage) going over speed bumps or hard cornering?

Not sure mate. PM me and we can discuss. It will probably be in the next few weeks and if your stuck for fitting I have a friend who has a garage that will fit them for you  Not sure on exact drop but if you would like me to measure so then you can measure your own to get an idea?

Stealth, can't say Iv'e had five up but don't envisage any issues  :happy2:

I'd say the same, speed bumps are a bit more harsh on the way down but the improvement in handling more than makes up for it!

I've never had any clearance issues, even when the car is dropped, still plenty of clearance underneath to get over speed bumps etc.

i ve looked at coilovers but dont think i need them if i can get the stance i want i would never adjust the coilovers so dont really see the point for me , i could do with getting  green house to measure his  :ashamed:  spoke top eibach today they said they lower the ed30 25 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear cause its lower than the gti out the factory !! but i was thought they were the same , only press release said it was lower
Title: Re: eibach for ed 30

they are the same as all the shocks and springs are the same so the press talk crap . the ride height will be same as mine fella and its about 10 to 15mm lower than stock, but if anything it pulls the back down and just make it sit more level
