No clutch and brake fluid is shared. Gearbox oil is separate.
-
Aaaaah, thank you.
Didnt make sense when I thouht about it with brake fluid being topped up from the bulkhead resevoir and gear oil at the box.
Clutch oil is only? Dsg then

No the clutch fluid being referred to is the hydraulic fluid used to actuate the clutch mechanism, this fluid is shared with the brake fluid Mike :happy2:

Makes perfect sense, having a mong morning :ashamed: Wheere abouts on the gearbox could this fluid potentially leak from?
Thanks again

Clutch master cylinder is a possibility

there is a connector at the gearbox where the pressure line joins the actuator/slave cylinder, I had a slight leak here that only became apparant on track days etc when the fluid got hotter, we changed the O ring and now its fine, saying that I haven't done a track day since

If my brake fluid is low will certainly be investigating said places. If not could be driveshaft oil seals again :sad1:
-
Driveshaft oil seals are for gearbox oil mike and not the clutch hydraulic fluid :happy2:

I know. One has gone before There's oil drops on bottom of my box and along my ARB. Need a day off work to have a good look :(
-
If its oil its likely to be gearbox. Brake fluid is more like water rather than oil and doesnt tend to stick to things like oil does
-
wow cool and thanks for sharing ideas :signLOL:

Don't mean to go off topic here but has anyone changed their manual gearbox oil?
