Title: Broadband/Laptop assistance

Had Virgin Broadband installed today, instead of the frankly appalling Talk Talk 'service' I had been using previously.

How do I 'name' my Broadband service from my laptop? The Talk Talk service was set up as 'Brien WI-FI' and I'd like to change the name of the Virgin service to this too, rather than the not-at-all-snappy 'virginmedia2717440'!

Any help gratefully appreciated.

If your router has the router address on the back / underneath (192.168.1.1 for example)

If you type the router address into your web browser and login to your router you should be able to change your network / router name in
the settings page you will have opened.  Probably found under SSID

Most router login details are

username: user
Pasword: (leave blank)

or

username: admin
password: admin

or

user:admin
password:(leave blank)

It may also be printed on the label and you can change it when you've logged in.
