Hi everybody,
Ive had my 06 gti for a few months and love it!! problem is im trying to keep it mint but the gf does 100s of miles a month and little marks have started to appear. Do you guys just use the car and love it and accept wear and tear or are you like me at the moment worrying more than enjoying.
thanks
phil

Oh the old partner using the car! Cars do get marks here and there, and you will never stop sneaking out and checking wheels when there not looking after they have used it :signLOL: just accept dude, she will park it in the smallest space at supermarket cos it's closest to door etc, but when you try to explain in my case it turns into ww3! Just enjoy your car :happy2:

Ditto!
My GF decided to drive my car ine the ice & snow last winter and managed to badly kerb two previously mint alloys on the passenger side. She's not been allowed out in it since & I always approach from the driver's side as I die a little inside every time I see the damage. Not a lot I can do about it now until I have them refurbed. I know at the end of the day its just a car, but...

Ha my gf won't drive mine she thinks I love it more than her ( think I might ha ) and always refers to it as my baby and if she damaged it that I'd never forgive her :signLOL:
Ha well trained

Mrs Beddie drives mine as her daily and has even done a couple of laps of the Ring... Now that was stressful but to her credit she did manage a couple of nice overtakes :happy2:

The pad disintegrated & flew off my machine polisher yesterday. Tore the paint off my side trim!

Luck too the wife won't drive mine either. Makes her too nervous in case something does happen. Only drove the MK5 a couple of times too.
But having her on the insurance does make it a little cheaper.
But paranoid when parking, which she understands. Things do happen and it's only a car at the end of the day :-)

eek - Same thing happened to me before.Wasn't a Menzerna pad was it? They've got a habbit of exploding in my experience!
I am paranoid about getting marks on the car - mainly panel dents. I got one one within the first couple of weeks of having the car due to someone careless with their car door - and that was in a mother & baby spot! Got it removed ok and so far been fine since. I look down the panels for any potential dents every time I garage the car. I know it's only a car and these things happen but.....

Yes it was actually! Heard about them exploding in the past too!
Never again! :fighting:
