My son has managed to scratch the back of my recaro seats with his gritty shoes... any advice on how I can rectify the unsightly marks?
-
I guess you could machine polish them or wrap them.
-
Hedge is correct i believe, you can polish the backs just like paintwork. :happy2:
Also it might help cutting off your sons legs. ( i would )

Yes but just preventing him from doing again is not enough, he needs to be taught a lesson.

Just treat them as if they were Paintwork. I machine polishe mine and ran over them with some chemical his black hole, then a coat of dodo juice purple haze and they came up like new. It's a similar finish to the piano black details on the new focus rs, black holes your best freind

What's black hole?
-
I may be totally wrong but he could mean Poorboy's black hole

Thanks luckyGti...is there something specifically for polishing plastic though?
-
I advised a mate to cover the seat backs with some fablon before his kids did something similar... did he listen? did he f........
He ended up taking the shells off and had them painted to match the original finish, cant tell the difference now, just look immaculate like there were never any kids in the back.
Might be the way to go if they are real bad???
I'll ask him how he got the backs off again as he said at the time they were a bit of a pain!

be careful i polished mine and it has went like a metalic look on the bits that were polished most i think its actually burned thru the black i just used t cut and it took ages by hand to polish out the scratches mine were quite bad but in the sun light they dont look that great but still better than a scratched seat

Expensive, but for £100 you can get a pair of these:

Tried a set this weekend and they are amazing, such a snug fit, and keeps your seats in pristine condition, will be getting some when I have my seats retrimmed this winter.
-
I can see why you would want them but why have nice seats and cover them up

Just get them out for special occasions, and to keep them looking as nice as when you first had them.
Would be annoying to have to spend another £300+ to have them retrimmed due to cracking or bolster wear.
-
would that not still happen from getting in and out my bolster on the drivers one is almost back to bar from the previous owner obviously not lifting himself over the bolster
-
Have a vinyl place cut a clear film to cover them. Will be cheap as chips

Now that's a good idea

I would just put away a few pennines each week, wait until the kids are grown up the get all the seats re-trimmed and polished up, it wont cost a lot. They are great seats but it is easy to get to precious over them. At the end of the day they are seats and by there nature they get used and abused. :rolleye:
