Title: Can other maps be used on RNS510
Post by: kiddfrost on June 13, 2011, 05:41:29 pm
Just wondering if other maps like Tomtom can me used on the RNS. I think I saw an RNS on ebay once claiming  tomtom maps were loaded in.
Thanks

I believe some people have used BMW mapping with VW SW on the RNS.  BMW mapping is always newer than VW too.

I am not saying its not possible to put Tomtom maps on but nobody else ever has managed it or even tried  , as QD has said people mod the BMW maps to work, but these are basically the same map as the VW one (Navteq) but they tend to be updated more often so are more up to date.

Possibly a Chinese copy.
They seem to run TomTom or iGo.
