Prices and quality can vary.........alot
I used QED silver anniversary XT when I did my install. I paid £7pm but you can pick it up cheaper now £4-5pm.
TBH if your using an 'out the box' 5.1 system 79 strand speaker cable will be more than adequate IMO and can be picked up from any electrical wholesalers :happy2:

Chord signature for my monitor audio GR60's fronts. You get what you pay for..... BIG TIME :P

If they are satellites then use QED Silver Micro more than ample for 5 small speakers.
If normal size that would still be ok and nice and discreet but maybe an upgrade to Silver Anniversary XT.

I have noticed a difference with cables on HiFi but never on my surround sound system - and I tried quite a few from cheap to silly money... all sounded the same.
My amp is a decent £1500 one so I figured cable would make a difference like the Hifi ... but no. I have QED £5/m stuff ... as it sounded as good as the £25/m, etc !

Same as Apollo 9Sorry not sure his actual name) but I only use QED cables, yes they cost a fair bit more then your ebay special but to someone like me who is into gadgetry then I can see, hear and feel a difference and worth every extra penny ;)

TBH guys (no offence to the OP) as I said if its an Wharfdale 'out the box' system then there is no real point spending good money on expensive speaker cable.
The cable isn't going to make any difference with the sound IMO, although it will cure the faults.

yup this is true, the system was bought in argos 5 years ago! no point me investing in a better system as not into it that much just want it to work well!

When you can .... Buy a better system for me separates is the way to go then take your time and buy interconnects and cables and power cables ........ It's a slippery slope bit like this forum..... BUT the rewards are superb!!!! Your system is like a chain and it's only as good as your weakest link--- so for me it's cables all the way ... That's why I'm skint

I rate Monster cable. Find it expensive but stopped hissing on my blueray surround and works great on my separates.

Chord company signature interconnects and speaker cables and russ Andrews power cables and I'm well chuffed with my system but I don't think my neighbour is....... :P
