Hi might be a silly question but ive seen people on here saying they can get 28/30mpg and up to 38mpg on a run on there computer with there ed30's but ive been driving mine like Mrs Daisy for the last couple of days and the max and i mean max i can get it up to is 26mpg and that was trying my hardest, ive had it in auto and used the paddles to flick through the gears quickly to keep the revs down.
I was just wondering if this was right and what other people are getting out of theirs..? cheers

What scenario are you driving in?
Around town i'm in the low 20's. On the motorway, sat at 70ish (without cruise :sad1: ) i get 32mpg max!

Travelled from Stranraer to Doncaster last Friday.. 262 miles..avg 34.2mpg... Give it some too... :driver:

Yes this is about the same, mainly round town driving, ive been crawling the last 100 mile and the best i got was 25/26...sounds about right then, just thought is was a bit weird people saying there getting 28/30 round town, i just cant see how that's possible

Had mpg 1 up to 43.1mpg on a drive to work (26miles)... mpg 2 average about 32-34mpg... That's Revo stage 1...
Maybe I ain;t driving it hard enough lol

Sticking to the A roads of Herefordshire, and the speed at which other people drive, I can easily see 37-40mpg on a nice warm day (over 20 miles). If I hoon it around I get low 30's - short town journeys high 20's.
I tend to find the mpg on the MKV on the trip computer is not the best - for instance I've seen the average since fill be 37mpg and had nearly 400 miles until the petrol light comes on. On another occasion I've had 35mpg and the light come on at 320miles. I always reset my overall trip when filling up.

I also see mid to high 30's on a long motorway journey to work, low 30's on A roads and mid 20's in town. mid teens on a spirited drive but often averages out to mid 20's by the time I have pootled home to let the car warm down.
stage 1 Pirelli.
Most of my miles are motorway so see mid 30's easily

Mines an unmapped Gti with a force twinge. 3 mile drive to work I get about 25mpg. Best ever on motorway is 41, 55 mile trip today on motorways I got to 36 with pretty much 70mph the whole way.

looks like it will change after my remap then, the extra torque should keep the revs down with any luck resulting in better mpg...driving normally not trying to save fuel i get 19...20/21 if im lucky :sad1:

My ED30 is totally standard, 41k on the clock and average low 30's combined in both auto and using paddles driving at sensible speeds, highest I've averaged is 38mpg on a good motorway run.....I'm happy with that
I've seen a lot of folks say that the most economical gear is auto but I get slightly better mpg just using the paddles.

see that's a lot different to mine :sad1:
i get slightly better with the paddles putting it in to 6th as quick as i can but still only around 25mpg trying my hardest...weird

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Don't you know there's not much oil left on this planet?
Call me selfish, but I aim to use up my fair share and then some before the Americans use it all.
Now stick the DSG in sports mode and gimme some global warming - or go and buy a diesel!
