Just seen a seller on the bay flogging a version "D" RNS-510 in which he states - has a 40gb HDD (Not 30GB as previous) and faster processor.
Is this a kosher unit, as I've never heard of a "D" Rev before. Says it's running firmware 3890.
Is it actually better and faster than the previous units ?

Ds are just coming out, thought 3890 is not a final firmware so it might be rubbish
Rev D is what all new 2011 VWs will have fitted. Faster processor, graphics and larger HDD

Think I'll have this installed in the new Polo GTI when it arrives
Are satnav systems okay as an installer?

Didn't think the Polo had the option of the RNS510? only the RNS310
The bigger hard drive is just for the amount of space the Maps & POI take up now the actual space for audio is smaller I think just 13gb?

Yep, RNS310 only for the Polo GTI.
That is why I stayed with the bog standard head unit, so I can get an RNS510 retro-fitted with all the options added (Bluetooth TV etc etc) :happy2:

Retro fitting is the way forward as its a lot cheaper
