looks great mate!!!!
-
Beautiful!!!
Colli does such a great job on black cars
-
Wow looks lush.
Am absolutely lovin' the completely black front of the car - it's something I've been toying with the idea of but haven't committed. Biggest issue for me is removing the GTI badge is a permanent change.
-
looks brilliant mate very very shiney, its a great wax the 915 :happy2:

How come? You can just go to a dealer and buy a replacement for £20 to put back on the car when you sell!

Because you'd have to modify the grille to get rid of the bit where the badge is stuck, otherwise it just looks funny.
-
Oh sorry Stealth, i misunderstood....you are looking to fully debadge the front - not just paint the badge black. :happy2:
-

Kinda. Not fully debadge - the VW logo would stay, albeit in black. Still not sure whether I should keep the stripe red or paint it black like the OP.
-
Phil Ive just not got round to changing the fog grill, I got the full grill set off a lad on another forum and its what came not sure why???
Cal Tdi it cost me about £25 for material which was about 4 meters of feux black suede and proper heat resistant automotive fabric glue...it has to be heat resistant other wise the fabric unsticks and sags down or bubbles up. There is a couple of things I still would like to take out and redo but for the moment its okay. And it took me about 2 days in all to do myself
Scott Ill get some of the gear knob close up im not sure how much they cost cos it was in the car when I bought it along with the gti steering wheel and MFD2.
Thanks for the kind words all of you

Ok well im confused now! No idea what you want to do!
Morty - lovely car! Suede looks 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8). I've done the same with my badges, black badges FTW! :happy2:
-
Cheers darren, where did you get the front and back black vw badges because thats what im looking to do to mine :happy2:
cheers scott.
-
Car looks great - additions really suit it :happy2:
JIM
-
scott they are the original ones that were on the car i just took them off and preped them for paint and then just painted them black magic same has my car
Cheers
Darren
-
Hi darren how do you get them off mate?
any how to on these for taking off and painting?
cheers scott. :happy2:
-
Ok well im confused now! No idea what you want to do!
For me, full debadge = remove GTI from grille + remove VW from grille + remove GTI, ED30 and VW from back
What I want = remove GTI from grille + black VW badge. But if you remove the GTI, you get a plastic tab left over on the grille where the GTI was stuck. Would have to mod the grille to get of this. If I later wanted to add back the GTI, new grille needed!

I know where you could get a grille

I know where you could get a grille
Yeah but yours is vinyl-covered! :P
It's bad enough I'm gonna have to hide those rims once I bought them so no one knows I spent £££ on it. Now you're tempting me with the grille!
Begone she-devil!

Scott couple of pics for you,

Cal Tdi ive got some pics for you but there not the best black against the sun just doesn't go. There is still alittle bit to do not happy with the 2 rear c pillars so im going to be re-doing them but they are not the best to try and get metarial round the curves.

a well deserved pat on the back for that one mate i thought it was a prof. retrim when a first saw the pictures. im guessing you had all the trim off to do it? i replaced the passenger a-pillar trim last weekend and that was enough for me. give me an engine transplant any day  just no annoying clips and reaching around to look through the windscreen to see if all the clips are linned up :signLOL:
-
Cheers Cal I'm not at all patient but I need every thing to be perfect so I grit my teeth and get on with it...It usually turns out some thing like

personally i would have an interlagos headliner but its pretty damn hard to get hold of the material apparently
i found this link http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17882 (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17882) but its in the US and uber exspensive
-
I am sure you can get interlagos from the Co that do the mk1 interiors name escapes me, think it maybe a tad to much though all over the roof.
Top interior retrim, cars looking good :happy2:
