Title: Red Moose???
Post by: suave on June 21, 2011, 09:24:19 pm
Anyone used Red Moose Machine Glaze - would appreciate feedback as am awaiting my first bottle to go on my tornado red.
Is it likely to be noticeably different on a waxed red?
Cheers

By hand or machine?

It's a great choice for red, and does a good job of filling and cleansing the paint to an extent.  Top it with something like Vics Concours or RG55 for a stunning finish on red.

In CYC product details it says it's great for especially dark colours and I've heard good things about it in detailingworld forums too. Im also about to use this on my black GTI and topping it with Menzerna Power Lock. My only concern was the fact that Red Moose is an oil based glaze and some people think that oil based glazes should not be topped with a sealant. Though everyone I've asked so far have said it's perfectly okay to do this.

You will almost certainly lessen the durability of Powerlock though, as it wants to bond with the paint, the CK RM will 'get in the way' to an extent...

I'd go with a Wax over RM.  Vics Concours is a great choice, which CYC also sells...

I was under this impression too but like I said everyone so far I've asked kept telling me it's no problem and that it's kinda old fashioned to think the modern sealants would not work with oil based glazes?? I quess I'll have to try and see. The order is already on its way to Finland..

I've used this for a few years on red cars and always been amazed with the results. A great choice. As said, with vics concours on top it's
