Hi Guys, my name is Chris and I'm 21 from near Leicester!
I bought the car standard when I was 20! It is a lovely low mileage, one owner car with full dealer service history! Options include winter pack, sunroof etc.
After owning a string of VW's including MK2 GTi 16v's and Lupo GTi's I decided to bite the bullet and buy the car I had my eyes on since I passed my test at 17!
So here is what it started off looking like....

Then, after a few months I purchased some FK Silverline X coilovers, Genuine Mercedes-Benz Alphard wheels and a US spec front Grille(apparently VW-UK only had 5 in stock, I sent four of them back because they were scratched or damaged!) and finally a MK6 golf boot badge as mine had become victim to the dreaded whiteworm!!....

215/40/18's on a 9.5J wheel

The front arches were rolled by plush automotive to avoid rubbing with the front wheels, and -4 deg camber in the rear to get the 9.5J sitting nicely! :happy2: Oh and helpers removed from the front coilovers....

All comments appreciated....Chris

welcome to the forum Chris...not a fan of stretched tyres(only because i don't like fitting them at work as they can be a nightmare to blow onto the rims) but your car looks good :happy2:
-
It's nice to see something a little different. Great looking car Chris, and great pics too :happy2:
-
When you going air ride ? that's what happens when you know Luke at plush :signLOL:
-
^^ :signLOL:
-
thanks for the kind comments! :)
@Mat Ed30, unfortunately I wont be going down the air ride route with this car as I lose interest quickly with cars and I cant justify spending and losing that type of money for less than a years worth of fun! I have no problems running the car at this height as there is no rubbing or banging etc
I would just like to say, even though I have been a member on here for a few months and havn't posted, some of the information using the search has been really helpful in sorting out a couple of problems I have overcome. Next job this weekend is to check the DV and see if I need to order myself a revision D model!
thanks again,
Chris

You should come to my DubClique meets at Stoney Cove, we held the first one last month, the place was packed with approx 150-170 cars and around 300 people! if you have facebook search for DubClique and "like" the page for updates/info. We havn't decided when the next meet will be, but as you probably know, the location is great and we had a great selection of cars on show

Welcome along, your TR GTI is simply stunning mate. Well done :notworthy: :surprised:
Been looking for those same wheels for a while but no luck other than importing them.
What camera and setting are you using to get the TR color to pop in those photo's?
-
Car looks fantastic, now usually a fan of the whole 'stance' scene but this looks great :happy2:
-
Car looks amazing - but do fear slightly for the inside edge of the rears shoes with that -4 degree camber.

The camera I have is a Nikon D5000 and the lens i have used for the most recent shots was a Nikon 35mm f1.8
As for settings, I use manual mode so just change it to suit the conditions.
