when I pluf my iphone (lastest one) into the mdi plug it comes up with an unsupported message.........on playback throught the rns I get poor sound quality (crackling)
can anyone help? why is this?
MDI < all correct and the music through the usb drive works fine.
-
I sometimes get that but it is just to tell you that any phone calls/ phone searching for signal could give you that familiar signal sound.
Generally though the playback through the MDI has been spot on. Not had any crackling etc.
-
kinda thought that.....
my message comes up and says.....something like not compatable.......sound may not be at its best quality (summary)
but still no joy :(
my ipod doesn't seem to work all the time either.
Do you think its just the latest ones that play up? older one will be fine?
-
I have an iPhone 4 and the sound is fine with mine mate
-
I have a factory AMI (MDI) which also presents the same message when plugging in, it's just an accessory warning and I doubt linked to your dodgy sound.
-
my MDI kit has the VW sticker(s) on, how can I ensure what I have is 100% oem?
-
It might just be something as simple as a dodgy cable connecting to the phone and not the MDI itself.
Where are you located? Do you know anyone nearby who has a cable you can try?
-
Birmingham.
Got to see apollo soon, as he going to help me TRY to fit my MFSW and highline.........hoping! get him to have a look
-
Id also check you are on the latest MDI firmware from my-gti.com mate
-
How would you check which firmware you already have? I'm having the same issue as you Johnny
-
You would need to scan the MDI adapter using VCDS and look at its details

:happy2:
