Do you think it is possible to spray and lacquer the VW rear badge without removing it from the car? Anyone done it? Don't want to bust it trying to remove it as they come as one bit to replace?

Its really easy to take off, id rather take it out then spray it on the car?

I used a large garbage bag cut open. I cut a hole in it just larger than the badge. If you are handy with masking tape, you're good to go from there. Just cover everything.
You can remove the badge/hatch release. To do this, you have to remove the inside hatch liner to be able to access and remove the badge/release. Then pull the badge off from the hatch release. You will need to remove the double sided body adhesive and replace it with new body adhesive tape before putting the two back together.
