Guys,
I want to confirm the following setup is not going to give me any rubbing issues. I've had mixed judgments on it with people away from the forum that I've asked.
2006 GTI 3 door
30mm H&R springs
18x8 wheels with an ET of 35
Regularly have front and rear passengers
Want to continue with the OEM dampers if viable
Will the wheel arch liner mod definitely be required?
Does that mod apply to both the front and back arches?

I think you is gonna have some rubbage with the ET35 offset

My current Turinis have an offset of ET51 - could I get away with it just about on those?

Will an ET of 51 (18x8) be okay with 225/40/18 tyres? I've very little experience with drops on the Mk5 :scared:

no problem mate, I thought Turini's in the mk5 fitment were ET42?????
rears should fine mate :happy2:

You're dead right, 51 was the offset for my other Speedline wheels :scared:
So ET42, does that present a new problem?

They are gonna poke about 15mm more than stock wheels, reckon you should be just about ok as long as you don't go too low, will fill the arches well :smiley:

I thought it best to check, although I was working on the theory that Mike ran Turinis on his (18x8 & Et42 + 225/40/18) and if I remember correctly his was dropped nicely, 30mm if not lower? :smiley:

U'll be fine and get full lock, do the front arch mod, at the worst I think you may get a little rub at the back with a couple of people in when going over big bumps :smiley:

Course not dude :happy2: Appreciate the info. I simply needed guidance as my driveway is a real bitch so I need more versatility than most who drop.
