Post by: NeilM on June 28, 2011, 12:25:45 pm
Anyone know if someone has 888's in stock?  (225, 40, 18's)

My fronts are finished after 3 track days but the rears are Ok.

Demon Tweeks are saying nothing till September

what about a set of federal 595RS-R's.  Apparently 90% the dry performance of r888s, better wet performance and cheap as chips

I've just bought a set of the 595 RS-Rs, 1 track day old and loads of life left in them for £200, not tried them as yet but they get good reviews  :happy2:

None in stock, I think he tried not to laugh out load

May well give the federals a go, just a bit of a pain having only 2 good 888's.

Yoko A048s are quite popular in 225/40/18. Have you tried Tweeks? Barter them down too, they'll generally knock 10% off.

Neil, I'd be tempted to get a set of 4 'other' and keep the 888s until you can lay your hands on another pair.

Thanks for the help guys, especially liver & Mat who put me on to some new 888's on Pistonheads, just picked them up  :happy2:

Turned out to be Dan Rose, leading the Vag Trophy in his Seat, (their allowed to use slicks this year).

Defiantly going to try some of your suggestions when these are shot, which wont be long
