Title: Air box flap removed!?
Post by: Black9 on July 01, 2011, 07:47:07 am
The small flap on the front of my air box which leads to the cold air feed which go's onto the intake leading to the front grille has a plastic cover missing? It's the size of like a 2 finger kitkat bar lol... Should I get this put back ASAP and could it cause any damage to the engine!? I assume not though as far as I'm aware the filter is further back, under the engine cover?

Thanks

This came up in another topic the other day, some cars seem to have the plastic bit (mine does) but others don't. Seems a bit of a strange one, but having or not I can't imagine it will have any significant impact on the car.

The cover was a very bad design on the mk5, constantly falling off, I found mine in my engine bay twice!

take it off, shouldnt cause issue

If you take the cover is all the air not going to escape rather than into the system.  :chicken:
