Title: Audi Bluetooth options?
Post by: scotta on July 04, 2011, 01:57:54 pm
Need some advise on the bluetooth options for the A3.

I had the Parrot mki9200 in the golf which i just left in place because i never thought it was much use.

So question being what are my options for the A3 do i go OEM or is there any aftermarket units that are better. Additionally any ideas the costings for each options?

Ive tried searching a few audi forums but people dont seem t write anything much sensible or constructive on most audi forums!

OEM is much the same as the Golf/Octavia setup.  The correct location for the unit is under the passenger seat.

You wouldnt happen to have a retrofit guide handy and know the part numbers required?

Something like 8P1 862 335 will do you.

The install is a bit like the Golf etc.  When you pull out the passenger seat and lift the carpet you'll find a polystyrene moulding, pull that out and make a few small adjustments and you'll find the interface fits perfectly.

Where do you connect the unit to - is there wiring in place under the seat or do you need to run the wiring to the back of the headunit?

No, you'll never find 'free' wiring in place on a VAG car

Connect to the back of the RNS-E or Concert Radio etc.
