Technically they are not rolling shots, they are quite specifically Car Rig photos. See below :happy2:

Ben
Well. You can either buy one from automotiverigs.com for about 700 dollars, or make one yourself. I did half and half. I bought the car clamps from automotive rigs, and then bought some aluminium tubing to make the poles which are in 4 pieces and hinged in the middle.

Amazing shots. :happy2: It must be scary atttaching your camera to it.
Thanks TC. It is a little scary yes. 2.5k camera bouncing up and down, but so long as the bits are done up tightly its fairly secure. :scared:
The best results i found where when pushing the car in neutral. The rear view shot was done by pulling the car from the front, 1-2mph max :happy2:
-
Yes i remember reading a write up, and the guy did the shots by pushing the car in reverse round a carpark, the illusion of speed is superb. :driver:

^ I love these but not the others so much. Am not a fan of distortion (and no I'm not joking). The third portrait shot is a stunner :notworthy: IMO
-
I feel a forum race course meet is in order :signLOL:
-
Cracking photos, goes without saying I bet you have to think the route out strategically beforehand though. Have you chopped any pedestrians feet off yet?
-
Thanks robin, by distortion do you mean lens distortion or post processing?
Steve all we need is a flat piece of Tarmac :)
MPS, max speed 2mph so no casualties :signLOL:
-
Thanks robin, by distortion do you mean lens distortion or post processing?
....Looks like wide angle lens 'distortion' (bendy car) to me but it's not on every shot. All I'm saying is that it's not to my taste for the subject. :happy2:
-
:congrats:
Awesome stuff, Rich..
Any pics of how the rig attaches to the car?

So to clarify, you got those shots doing 2mph?

Correct, either crawling along in D with my foot half on the brake or pushing it in N with the handbrake off. You get the sense of movement from the long shutter speed, the car might only move 0.5-1 meter during the exposure. :happy2:
Robin... i know what you mean about the lens distortion, even though its only a 24mm lens. I would prefer to use an even wider lens like a 17mm, that way you end up capturing more of the movement. At 650 quid though it wont be on my shopping list anytime soon. :signLOL:
Im pleased you all like the results :notworthy:
