Post by: theroxbury on July 06, 2011, 10:50:20 pm
Who be interested in buying one if there was a group buy organised?

Possibly if price was right ;)

Think you would be better organising one with the sellers/manufacturers before putting feelers out as the manufacturers may not be interested in doing a group buy.

I agree with big Al, but if you could get one sorted I would possibly be interested in an ED30 version

Surely if someone saw the interest this might have someone would be able knock some money off...

I was going to buy one yesterday, cheapest I found it (for K04) was £320 inc. VAT. Checkout wouldn't work properly though, that's what stopped me, lol.

I have been in touch with a company (is also a member on here) who are willing to do a group buy for the ITG Maxogen intakes for K03 or K04.

The level of discount will depend on the number of buyers, so the more the better!

The usual price they sell at is very competitive anyway, £300 for K03 and £320 for K04 (Prices inc. VAT).

So if you may be interested then please add your name to the list and whether you need it for K03 or K04.

I will start a thread in the Group Buy section...

Thank you.

*Edit* Maybe I won't start a thread in GB section just yet, just read the rules.  :ashamed:

I'll start a list here, this is just to gain interest, no commitments.  :happy2:

I have just bought a GTi so would very much consider this! What sort of gains would I be looking at with a stock car and the ITG fitted?
Title: Re: ITG Maxogen group buy?
Post by: johnboy07 on July 08, 2011, 02:35:42 pm
all depends on the level of tuning you go to but around 15bhp can be achieved with a normal gti and software and more for ko4 cars. These are one of the best kits you can buy for gains but without having two cars with same software with one standard and the other with the itg its impossible to say the actual gains you will make. Well worth the money though for noise and performance  :happy2:

it was an option chris but got the job i went for so no need to! (although i do now have a cheap OEM airbox which is unused and a new ornament in my garage)  :happy2:

no  noticeable difference in performance and sound between either IMO, fitting on both units are similar as you would expect

Seriously interested in this for a KO4.... can anyone tell me if there is noticeable improvements across the revs, or is the BHP gains only at the higher revs?

Also, I presume the payment of these items can be made via Credit card?

Flyboy... where did you get that engine cover??

Chris has told me that ITG has given the GB a go ahead as long as there are 10 confirmed orders.

He has yet to work out the costs etc, hopefully he'll be along soon to update us all...  :popcornsoda:

I done my engine cover myself and its not for the faint hearted. centre panel is carbon dipped by pits top designs.
To all group buyers.....ITG is a great bit of kit but take care with fitting  and check for clearances around the pipework of the intake. i moved 2 top rad hose clips backwards and  slightly bent 1 coolant metal pipe to clear the hoses and jubilee clips

A bit of bad news for starters...

I've just been told that the prices on the company's website were wrong and they have since changed the prices (they forgot to add VAT). Unfortunately they said they cannot honour the prices.  :sad1:

But...

I got in touch with FR&R Tuning and they have kindly agreed to give forum members 10% off and FREE UK mainland postage, but we need at least 10 orders.

Quote
Hi Mandy!
We can offer 10% off RRP and free uk mainland postage. RRP for the K04 Kit is £320+VAT=£384 and RRP for K03 kit is £300+VAT=£360. If you guys can place atleast 10 orders I can do the K04 kit for £288+VAT=£345.60 Delivered and K03 Kit for £270+VAT=£324.00 delivered. If you would like to go ahead with this of the guys can order online using the correct link:

Apologies it's not as much discount as I first thought but it was the best price I could find it for!

Awesome GTI sell them but at £360 (ish) although it says

"Found this item cheaper? Tell us and we'll do our best to beat it! "

Might ring them tomorrow and see what they can do

Thanks Dom.  :happy2:

Realistically I really don't think you'd get a new one for £300, I was told ITG don't like their products being discounted too much as it makes them look 'cheap' which is fair enough.

If you want a cheaper ITG intake then you're best bet is to wait for a used one to come up in the for sale section, don't know how long the wait will be though!

I have been asked to run a GB on these by a member on here. I am happy to do this. If we can get 10+ orders we will do them for £310 for the K03 and £325 for the K04.

We must get 10 orders paid for before we can go ahead with the order though as otherwise it will not be worth us doing it.

I will start a thread in the GB section with more details :)
