Title: mirror indicator not working on hazard only

dropped my golf off for an mot just now and as i was doing a few pre-checks i noticed the drivers side mirror indicator wasnt working as i pressed the hazard switch but it works when i press the indicator stalk, any ideas on what this could be or weather they will fail it for that? thanks

Faulty hazard switch? Easy enough to replace.
