This wont really cover the MK5 as they use an ME9 system but the Mk6 platform vag cars (and pretty much anything else from late 2009) cannot be programmed via OBD port, so ECU must be removed and programmed via 'BOOTMODE'. Due to the confusion this causes for our customers we made this video to explain how we program these ECU systems.......

Apparently not on Petrol Octavia's with the TSI engine. :wink:

A lot of petrols can still be programmed via OBD port, more so with Skodas I find. But we are seeing more and more petrol cars without the ability to program via OBD.

Plus the dealer can update your ECU and you are back to square one. :sad1:

Thats been an issue with all forms of ECU reprogramming, but for £25 we re-install the software (BOOTMODE) or free for OBD reflashes :smiley:
