Title: Who wants a ride in our track day toys then?
Post by: JKM on July 09, 2011, 09:46:09 am
So Who wants a ride in our track day toys then?

We will be attending the VW & Audi Driver Track day next weekend – Saturday 16th July at Castle Combe with our Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI running its cheeky KO4 Conversion and our track prepared MK3 VW Golf GTi (my baby). Both cars will be out on track all day.

For any of you folks who will be attending and would like a ride in either car we will be offering Charity Rides.

We have chosen to support Cancer Research UK as it is a charity which is very close to JKM’s hearts. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. Thanks to groundbreaking work by the charity more people are beating cancer than ever before.

We will be asking those who wish enjoy  a passenger ride out on track with us to donate £5.00 per passenger. The charity run will consist of approximately 4 laps in either the Skoda or the MK3 Golf. Choice is yours, you can go out in both if you fancy!  :happy2:

VW & Audi driver have kindly agreed to waive the passenger signing on fee for all those wishing to take part and help us to support us this Charity on the day.
Big Thank you to VW & Audi Driver.  :congrats:

As well as Charity rides, we will also have lots of products on offer so come and see us at the JKM stand on the day.   :pomppomp:

A few track day notes:

Passengers must be over 17 years of age.

All drivers and passengers must wear a crash helmet. Bring your own, or helmets can be hired on the day from the Signing on Kiosk near the JKM stand, I understand the hire fee is £10, plus a refundable deposit. We will have a spare crash helmet with us, but you may need to hire one on the day if ours doesn’t fit.

You will also be required to wear suitable clothing and footwear i.e arms and legs to be covered.

A massive thank you to all who braved the weather and came to see us at Castle Combe on Saturday. We managed 25 charity rides, some in the pouring rain and a few in the sun that showed its face in the afternoon.

Both the Octavia and the Golf were faultless all day and were running flat out from 9am. If you went out in either car would love to hear what you thought

A cheque for £125.00 will be on its way to Cancer Research this week. So big thanks to all   :congrats:

I thoroughly enjoyed both my rides...feel a bit for the Octy with the abuse Jim gives it in the corners  :driver: but it took it all no probs!

Very differnet to the Mk3 which was as nick said like a go kart try to maintain constant speed all the way round but loved the bucket seats and experience in a caged/stipped out car! Already thinking about something similar instead of tracking my Scirocco R.

Many Many thanks for doing the passenger rides.  :happy2:

An excellent opportunity for many of us, thank you.  Thanks to Nick as well for the excellent driving  :happy2:

Those cars had a really hard day on that track for most of the day and neither missed a beat, when others around were struggling, which is a true credit to you.
