Fitted the TPMS today which wasn't too bad but getting the wire to the ABS through the bulkhead was longer than expected.
All was well for the fitting side of things but hit a slight problem after coding the TPMS,the beep won't come on but the TPMS icon is lit on the cluster.
I'v connected the wire to Pin 41 of the ABS is this correct for my ABS:

UPDATE:
Popped out early this couldn't sleep (don't know why, heh?) unplugged ABS wire from Pin 41 which was a pain as it well and truly in the connector and wasn't coming out.
After a few cursing and swearing (not at you Eddie) and 20mins later the pin removed itself from the connector and with it I made very sure where pin location 35 and in that the grey wire went in.
Checked and put some more air the tyres and resetted the TPMS via VCDS and pressed the TPMS switch and eagerly waited for the "bong" and yes it "bonged" alright.
Well chuffed with another "Mod" under my belt, can't wait to save up for the next! :jumpmove:

Another problem the ESP button doesn't light the icon on the cluster as before any ideas?? :sad1:

Bad connection all ok now.

Does this come with instructions? thinking about fitting one of these myself as get flat tyre paranoia.
Where did you get it?
Do you have a run through if the instructions aren't the best?
-
It depends where you get it from, Eddie-NL supplied mine and yes it came with instructions and support if you get stuck.
The hardest or should I say the most time consuming is threading through the bulkhead for the ABS wire but other than that its pretty straight forward and also you need coding with VCDS.
As from my post here I had wired to wrong pin loacation at the ABS but thats because I had the newer ABS pump.
I had a good look at this retrofit on here and at other forums to get a better idea whats involved pictures speak louder than words and if you do this retrofit I'll be more than happy to to do a run through.

I thought all GTi's came with this?
Mine went off once when I hit a pot hole, I have since had 3 different sets of alloys on, all with diff rent pressures and it has never gone of?
Does it activate on a drop or any psi or when a tyre gets below a certain PSI? I thought changing alloys would've activated it tbh! All various sizes 17's, 18's and 19's!
-
Mines not a Gti but soot wagon I would of thought all Gti had Tpms as standard.
Not quite sure how the system works but no doubt someone on here can answer that question.
-
It uses the ABS rotor to detect the rolling radius of the wheel. If it increases or decreases significantly, the TPMS warning comes on - simples
