Title: Tyre Options to go on 18x8.5" and 18x9.5"? need stretch but unsure of combo?

Right so ive sold my other wheels so i need to order tyres tonight but still not 100% on which combo to go for.

I had my heart set on

8.5" = 215/35/18

9.5" = 225/35/18

But now unsure, been told to think about 205/40/18's fill the arch gap better :)

whats everyones thoughts, its to go on my mk5 jetta not a performance machine, just my diesel hack :)

215's not a bit excessive all round, it is my daily like, was going to go 225 on the rears?

215's are extreme but they do work as mate bennet on here runs them on his 9.5's daily with no probs and they helped him collect no.1 1st place at inters'11. Stevie.
