I continue to love my black 3 dr gti.... on 17 inch wheels...im looking out the window at her now....the wheels looking back at me!!! all because i saw a black 3dr with...18s!!!

My question is,...  anybody out there that loves their 17s more than the 18s or are we all deep down thinking as my subject reads?.... im saving for my wedding so gf wont budge..or let me have them as a wedding prezzie...please put my mind at rest?

At least tyres are cheaper for your 17's!!

will the g/f let you get your 17's refurbed a different colour? that looks good (matt black or a dark grey)

17's can sometimes look just as nice as 18's mate.
Don't lose heart.
Once you go to 18's. when you see someone on 19's, or even 20's you will probably long for them too.
It doesn't get any easier  :grin:

Thanks for the response guys, still glad i got a 3dr in black..judging by those pics i made the right choice there!!

Ive only ever been in a gti with 17s on,is the ride really that bad with the 18s ????

Just remember oem 17s don't suffer with white worm unlike oem 18s.

18"s look a lot better IMO but I'd imagine tyres would be much cheaper for the 17"s.

Tempted to price up 17" PR 1.2s for fast road / track, save a few more kilos  :innocent:  Sell the 18" PR 1.2s and save for some nice BBS or Image rims in 18 or 19 again  :party:

Wish my list would stop getting longer, damn this site!  :mad:

17" are okay, as said you'll save on the price of tyres but when i was buying the golf i was looking for one on 18" even though i had to pretend with the wife that if the right one came along on 17" i'd be up for it  :signLOL:
