Hi

have you recently fitted this?
If you have does it actually have the Aux-in?

Hi Eddie, I fitted it about 6 weeks ago but have only just got around to sorting this problem out. How do I tell if it has the Aux-in as when I take the √ from the box under 2E: Media Player 3 I still get the problem.

Go into the coding for the RNS510 and uncheck the aux-in and reboot it

Thanks Eddie, if you mean Byte 0 Bit 2 them it is unticked, if I go into  2E Media Player in Byte 0 Bit 0 Analoger Input (AUX-In) installed and take the √ out it will not accept the code as it is all oooooo, at the moment it is 010000.

010000 is what I have in my mdi without AUX-in no faults. What loom did you use?

Loom that was supplied with it. All works and do not have any sound problems, just this fault.  :happy2:

Log into Radio Code 56, And disable IPOD/AUX. I'm pretty sure that is where your problem would be.
Unless you have RNS510, That I would only be guessing i'm afraid that you would have to look in Navigation perhaps?

Will pull up my codes tonight, and post them if you like?

No tick in the CD/IPOD/USB under 56 radio.  I have the RNS 510 and its the same under 37 navigation.  :sad1:

Even if you use long code helper?

If need be, PM I maybe able to help you remotely if you like? But you need a stable internet connection to your laptop/pc with vag-com plugged into the car.

Well a big thanks to GLIDN for having a look at this, using the remote access software he has and all the way from New Zealand. Nice chatting with you over the internet. Didn’t get to the bottom of it so still under investigation?  :happy2:

Yeah sorry we could not get sorted,

All his coding was correct. When I get a chance I will check wiring and let you know, unless I find the answer first. Lol

Strange as I had this problem, when I fitted a D version. Tried to remove the Aux-in from the media player wouldn't accept the coding. yet on my B version it doesn't throw the fault

Very Interesting what you mentioned here. I compared mine Also B version to his D version. The error is on the MDI specific, nothing in the can-gateway, Radio or NAV.

Wondering if I should upgrade the firmware on my B?

Mine is the same too - won't accept coding to disable the aux in. If it weren't for vcds I'd be unaware as in all operational respects everything is fine.

is your MDI factory fitted? or did you install the MDI?

Do you have the glovebox version or centre console MDI?

another option is to fit the aux-in socket

fairly cheap and easy to do

I have a 2007 MY GTI with RNS510-Cand MDI (can't recall the code, but it was brand new from VW only days ago) behind the dash.

Finally pulled all my MDI kit out, I have no wires disconnected/unconnected in the Loom.

However we install my whole kit into a passat last week. As soon as the VW Factory bluetooth kit wiring was added to the MDI loom and daisy'd off the MDI Can-gateway wires.
We found funny errors codes in VCDS under the MDI kit.

Hope this helps.
