how likely is it for the rear wheel bearings to fail within weeks of each other
-
I would say likely as the fronts seem to go in pairs.
-
Mmmm i will answer my own question, and yes it is likely, replaced kerbside bearing couple of weeks ago mand within days the passenger side started to make a noise replaced today and, bliss silence is golden
-
I already answered it for you

What kind of noise is it?
I'm trying to work out if mine are going, I have no movement as its just passed it's MOT but I do get a wurring noise, more noticeable above around 50mph and goes when I turn the wheels slightly to the left.
Does this sound like a bearing?

Mine got louder when going round roundabouts

Could be uneven wear on the rear tyres, bit of a trait with these cars!
I had it on my old car and my dad had it on his old Octavia too

My old R888s made such a noise. It was the Wheel bearing 'wurrrrrr', hummmmm, however you want to describe it. But so much louder :scared:
So quiet now (apart from the solid engine mounts & Miltek )
