Taken from the VW website:

Quote
Three-Year Paint warranty
All Volkswagen passenger cars are provided with a warranty for a period of 3 years from the date of first registration against any manufacturing defects with the paintwork.
The only preconditions are:
The defect must be reported to a member of the Volkswagen Authorised Network as soon as it is discovered. This must of course be within the warranty period.
The defect must not be due to external influences such as accident damage, climatic, thermal, chemical or industrial pollution, insufficient care or maintenance. This will be determined by the member of the Volkswagen Authorised Network at the time of inspection.

12 years bodywork corrosion warranty.

ie if front arches have begun to blister then aslong as its not been caused by a stonchip or accident damage, has FVWSH and original paint VW should cover repairs.

Think even without the VW service history that they should do it for you.
Mine is full VW apart from one year, do need to take it to them to try and get my front arch done.

I've got 2 take mine 2 the dealer cos mine is suffering from blisters on the front arch 2  but a friend of mine took his 2 the derby dealership for the same thing and they said the bubbling was caused by mechanical  damage ie the arch lines clip so there for not covered under the 12 year body work warranty

My front left wheel arch was blistering a few months back.  Took it in to Robinsons VW Norwich and they tried to fob me off with the old 'wheel arch liner' excuse.  Had a big bust up with them then called VW UK who were very helpful.  Ended up having to pay for 30% of the cost of repair (£100), which was better than the full cost.  They know the wheel liner is a design fault, just won't admit it, still p!ssed off I had to pay 30%, but they would not budge.  Don't let the dealers get away with it, they are a bunch of w@nkers!
