Title: The New New New Beetle 2.0 TFSi engine
Post by: Thecrawf on July 20, 2011, 02:56:28 pm
Does anyone know what 2.0 ltr turbo engine it will be K03/4 or something else

I have read it is 197bhp and de-tuned to that figure but that seems to be the K03 but de-tuned could be k04

Thanks in advance

Thanks I was going to look at wiki but it has frequently got statements and facts wrong

With that in mind what is the tuning potential?

The new model retains the FF layout of the first generation, while improving interior packaging with more room in the rear.[13] Engine options for the European market are expected to include 1.2-litre (103 bhp (77 kW; 104 PS)), 1.4-litre (158 bhp (118 kW; 160 PS)) and 2.0-litre (197 bhp (147 kW; 200 PS)) TSI petrol engines, and 1.6-litre (105 bhp) and 2.0-litre (138 bhp (103 kW; 140 PS)) TDI diesel engines. In addition to the 2.0-litre TSI and TDI engines the North American market retains the 2.5-litre (168 bhp (125 kW; 170 PS)) inline-5 petrol engine found in the previous Beetle.[13][12][17]

 I had the last V5 beetle and that was a 2.3ltr wiki saying there was a 2.5ltr!!!! Was there a 2.5 v5?

I think the 2.5 ltr Beetle was in the US only.

I had quite a few New Beetles, 1.8T, 2ltr, 2x 2.3 V5's & a TDI.
I think out of all of them I much preferred the V5 Sport! :happy2:

Yea I loved the spoiler popping up when you passed a focus at 100mph and watching their faces at disbelief of a beetle doing those speeds

Nice TSI engine with a K04 bolted on should be a very nice little sleeper to upset lots of cars.

That's what I was hoping used to rock up behind mk4 GTI's before in my V5 wasn't the sport so no one knew what engine was in it
