Some cheeky bugger has gone and used my reg/ car details to claim their 4 new coilpacks under the 28F5 recall!
Booked my car in for a service and enquired about the recall, and was told it had already been done, and by a dealer in Derby, which is miles from where I live. On further investigation they had even put the mileage down as 71000, my car has only done 56000!
VW UK are now involved in getting the situation sorted out, and hopefully I should have mine replaced.  :happy2:

Oh they were yours! Cheers  :booty:
Only joking. That's a real p1ss take! Hope it gets sorted

			-
Strange! I thought that the car had to be booked and taken into the dealer for new coil packs to be issued.

			-
Vw preston and vw wrexham wouldn't just give me the coilpacks they both said they have to fit!

			-
How bizarre! You'd have thought they'd have done a VIN plate check, as a minimum.
I thought the same as well, that as part of the recall the revised ones were being *fitted* by a main dealer, not just given to the customer? I'd have thought most of the folks walking in the door wouldn't know one end of a coilpack from another, let alone how to swap them?

Thats well cheeky!
Out of curiosity whats was the revision?  Im guessing because if had coilpacks in last 12 months they will automatically be revised ones?

			-
They are the original 07k 905 715 coilpacks Mike. (date stamped week 23 2005) as you know the latest ones are rev F.

Couldn't be someone cloning your vehicle could it? If so - The con might have sold the clone to some mug who has gone into VW for the recall.

It was done on the original reg number, not my private plate, so I doubt it's been cloned.

I would contact the DVLA as they may have re registered your reg plate by mistake to another vehicle.
