Title: What performance mods are left to do?
Post by: berg on July 21, 2011, 10:24:08 pm
Hi guys, I always wated to do the performance mods before moving onto highline/mfsw/rns 510 or carbon mirrors etc.

What am I now missing in terms of performance mods as have -

Revo Stg 2+ with cai, downpipe, hpfp, s3 intercooler, rs4 valve, rev d DV   (not looking to go hybrid k04 - stg 2+ is enough!)

Dave B NQSBBK with uprated pads

Forge quickshifter, sachs clutch, wavetrac diff, ths side mounts with ecs dogbone insert

b12 on order, walk, tt wishbones and eibach f&r arbs.

The only thing I can think of to add is S3 or TTRS rear brakes or preventative mod a forge catchcan. Not looking to add a twintercooler as think the s3 one does the job for me.  I know Hurdy recommends not fitting the Forge actuator.

Let me know if you think i have missed owt to put on my wish list!

Thanks.

As TT arms, B12 and WALK are already to come next there will be still left:

- tyres (R-S2, R1-R, AD08, KU36, PSS)
- some weight saving (carbon hood, Pole Position seats)
- OEM undertray mods

I'd go for Whiteline bars as their front bar is just 24 mm providing better
traction for your highly modded engine.

cheers bruce, have already discussed many tyres with you. re weight saving, yes will get a lighter battery but not sure about going down carbon bonnet route. what do you mean by oem undertray mods?

Well, i'm one of those i must say, but i'm ready to try one, and form an opinion after that, until then i think it's as unnessecary as the Neuspeed pulled kit, that i have fitted on mine  :happy2:

I would certainly be doing S3 rears, have them on mine and the car is so planted and level under heavy braking  :happy2: Am sure Hurdy did mention publicly the concerns with the Forge actuator. Yes, it is a good product, but it needs to be set up correctly and this can only be done with a serious amount of data logging to make sure that it is set just right for that specific application. IMHO it is not worth the hassle.
