So yesterday I purposely drove very 'Granny on a Sunday drive' like just to see what kinda mpg I could return. Got as high as 41.6 mpg! Car's standard DSG GTI bar Twintake. Not bad, usually in the mid 20s!!

Thanks for undertaking this important research on our behalf. It saves the rest of us driving like Miss Daisy instead of enjoying our cars!

Very interesting, I have tried everything under the sun, The best I have managed since I got my GTI is only around 27MPG.
Nothing better.
I replaced the oil, filter, plugs, PCV stage 1. Doing the Fuel Filter this weekend. Still trying to find an Intake solution. Even second hand plus shipping, will still take around $650NZ out of my pocket (ouch) - Imagine if you guys had to pay £650 for an intake?
Still will try new airfilter. Other than that, I'm lost into trying to find the additional fuel saving?

How about trying something like this?

relatively cheap I would imagine part prices are similar for the OEM bits in NZ if they have bluemotion cars.
